Online marketing

This website is overseen and continually developed by the Online Marketing Team at ncm.at. Where required, online advertising campaigns, for example with Google AdWords, supplement the online marketing. The website itself is the basis for this. It is designed and optimised for search engines in accordance with the Google Webmaster Guidelines. The content is constantly expanded by editors to fit the current requirements of the users. This guarantees that search engines can find, read and interpret the website content optimally.

Use of CheckEffect

The website uses CheckEffect, a web analysis tool provided by ncm.at. CheckEffect is the tool for successful online marketing for the tourism industry, developed by tourism experts to meet the requirements of the tourism industry. CheckEffect uses so-called "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer in order to help the website analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be stored on a server of the company ncm.at. ncm.at will use this information to evaluate the use of the website. The evaluation is used to provide the website operator with a detailed overview and reports on search terms, search engines and cost-benefit calculations of specific advertising, campaigns and pay-per-click links. CheckEffect compares this information anonymously with websites of similar companies and provides an industry comparison.

You may refuse the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you agree to the processing of data collected about you by ncm.at in the aforementioned manner and for the aforementioned purpose.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. You can refuse permission for Google Analytics to collect data in the future by installing a deactivation add-on for your browser.

Use of Pinterest

Plugins from the social network Pinterest Inc., 635 High Street, Palo Alto, CA, 94301, USA are integrated onto our website. You can recognise the Pinterest plugin by the "Pin it Button" on our website. If you click the Pinterest "Pin it Button" while you are logged into your Pinterest account, you can link the content of our website to your Pinterest profile. This means Pinterest can assign the visit to our website to your user account. We hereby refer to the fact that we, as the supplier of the website, receive no notification of the content of submitted data or its use by Pinterest. You can find more information on the Data Protection Declaration of Pinterest here.

Use of Facebook social plugins

Our website uses social plugins ("plugins") provided by the facebook.com social network, which is operated by Facebook, Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA, 94304, USA ("Facebook"). These plugins can be recognised by one of the Facebook logos (white "f" on a blue tile or a "thumbs-up" sign) or are marked as "Facebook social plugin". The list and appearance of Facebook social plugins can be seen here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins.

If you access one of our web pages containing such a plugin, your browser will establish a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin will be communicated directly from Facebook to your browser and embedded in the website. As a result, we have no influence on the extent of data, which Facebook collects using this plugin and would therefore like to clarify how we believe the system works:

By incorporating the plugins, Facebook obtains the information that you have accessed the corresponding page from our website. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can allocate the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the Like button or leaving a comment, this information is transmitted from your browser directly to Facebook and saved there. If you do not have a Facebook account, there is still the possibility that Facebook will ascertain and save your IP address.

The purpose and extent of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook and your related rights and privacy options can be found in Facebook's privacy policy: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you are a Facebook member and do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our Internet site and link this with your membership data stored at Facebook, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.

It is also possible to block Facebook social plugins for your browser, by using the "Facebook Blocker" for example.

Use of Google +1 button

This Internet site uses the "+1" button of the Google Plus social network, operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google"). The button is recognisable from the "+1" symbol on a white or coloured background.

If you access a web page with such a button on our website, your browser establishes a direct connection to Google's servers. The content of the "+1" button will be communicated directly from Google to your browser and embedded in the website. We therefore have no influence on the extent of data that Google collects using the button, but assume that this includes your IP address being saved.

The purpose and extent of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google and your related rights and privacy options can be found in Google's privacy policy regarding the "+1" button: https://developers.google.com/+/web/buttons-policy

If you are a Google Plus member and do not want Google to collect data about you via our Internet site and link this with your membership data stored at Google, you must log out of Google Plus before visiting our website.

Use of the Twitter Tweet Button

This Internet site uses the "Tweet" button of the Twitter social network, operated by Twitter Inc., 750 Folsom Street, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States ("Twitter"). The button is recognisable from the dark-blue bird and the word "Tweet" on a light-blue background.

If you access a web page with such a button on our website, your browser establishes a direct connection to Twitter's servers. The content of the "Tweet" button will be communicated directly from Twitter to your browser and embedded in your Twitter message. We therefore have no influence on the extent of data that Twitter collects using the button, but assume that this includes your IP address being saved.

The purpose and extent of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Twitter and your related rights and privacy options can be found in Twitter's privacy policy: https://twitter.com/privacy?lang=en

If you are a Twitter member and do not want Twitter to collect data about you via our Internet site and link this with your membership data stored at Twitter, you must log out of Twitter before visiting our website.

Cookie guidelines

What are cookies and why do websites use them?

Cookies are used to ensure the best possible use and depiction of the website. Cookies are small data packages that are sent to the visitor's browser every time they visit a website and stored there. This information can be sent back to the web server each time the website is visited.

Cookies are used to save personal page settings as the websites do not have data storage of their own. They are also used to identify users and to analyse their use behaviour. Cookies fulfil a wide range of purposes and therefore differ by function, life span and source. For example, there are temporary and permanent cookies. Temporary cookies are either automatically deleted after a period of time defined within the cookie or at the end of the browser session. Permanent cookies are saved in the browser permanently.

Deleting and blocking cookies

All conventional web browsers offer functions to prevent the general storage of cookies or the storage of cookies from third-party suppliers (e.g. advertising partners) and to delete cookies at any time. The links to the browser producers below provide information and instructions on managing cookies:

Internet Explorer from Version 7 – Internet Explorer Cookies

Google Chrome – Google Chrome Cookies

Mozilla Firefox – Mozilla Firefox Cookies

Opera – Opera Cookies

Apple Safari - Apple Safari Cookies

Please note that blocking cookies can restrict the use of the website.

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies (including Google) are used to place ads on the basis of prior visits made to the website by a user. These advertising partners do not collect any personal information, such as names, email addresses, postal addresses or telephone numbers. Users of the website can deactivate the use of cookies by Google by accessing the Interest-Related Advertising on Websites outside of Google page and deactivating the function. In addition, users can deactivate the use of third-party cookies by visiting the deactivation page of the "Network Advertising Initiative" and http://www.youronlinechoices.com and adjusting the relevant settings for the opt-out function. These settings ensure that no interest-related advertising is displayed, but do not prevent general advertisements.

The following types of cookies are used on the website

Technical cookies:

Technical cookies are imperative for ensuring a modern and user-friendly website can be displayed. Without these cookies, data entered during a website visit cannot be stored temporarily and processed (typical examples are products in a shopping basket or previous selections of products / services, if you go back during a session).

Functional cookies:

Functional cookies can be used to make the website as user-friendly as possible. These are not necessarily needed to make the website work, but fundamentally improve the usability during a user's visit to the website. These are used if settings such as preferred language or interests need to be saved, so that they do not need re-entering upon each new visit.

Analytical cookies:

Analytical cookies are used to gain an insight into how visitors use the website, through which subjects these visitors enter the website and which subjects and articles are particularly interesting and relevant in order to continually improve the service provided. As well as visited pages, referral pages and linked pages, data such as duration of stay and click activities can also be saved.

Commercial cookies:

Cookies are also used during marketing campaigns to display advertisements on other websites. Cookies and retargeting tags for interest-related advertising are used by online advertisers on their own site.

Cookies from social networks:

In order to like and share elements such as pages, images and videos in social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, etc., social plugins are integrated into the website. Cookies, which are embedded by these platforms, cannot be influenced as these and their content are managed exclusively by third-party suppliers. In order to avoid any association between the visit to a website and personal profiles, the visitor should ensure they have logged out of such third-party websites before visiting other websites.
